With the expert help of author and woodworker Luc St-Amour, you too can make truly amazing vehicles.  In this book you'll find everything you need to know to create eight wooden trains, planes, motorcycles and trucks. The author provides tested and proven parts lists and cutting templates for each of the eight models.  Clearly labeled step-by-step assembly drawings aid you in completing each project. All of the models in this book are made with common shop tools.  The author recommends a scroll saw, a drill press, a belt/disc sander, a one-inch belt sander, a band saw, and a thickness planer. Start today on these amazing vehicles: - Lightning Racing Car - Country Pick-up Truck - Easy Riding Motorcycle - Jet Airliner - Old-Fashioned Steam Engine Train Set - Coast-to-Coast 18 Wheeler - Mighty Mixer Cement Truck - Load-and-Haul Dump Truck

Library Journal
Kids (and grownups who are young at heart) can never have enough toys. In these titles, St-Amour shows how to make a slew of realistic model vehicles from wood. Each title offers plans for eight vehicles: a bulldozer, backhoe, pickup truck, airliner, motorcycle, and a train are just some of the offerings. Building toys with small parts requires special care because of the choking hazard to small children. St-Amour solves this problem by offering plans to make similar trucks in two of the books; one offers rugged designs without small parts for kids (Making Construction Vehicles for Kids) and the other offers more elaborate display models (Realistic Construction Models You Can Make). The third title, Amazing Vehicles You Can Make, offers designs for both play and display with guidelines for use. The attractive designs are appealing, offering something for everyone. Most woodworkers will be capable of completing these designs, although some are much more complex than others. All of these titles will be of interest to woodworkers and should be part of libraries' collections. If you can only justify one of these titles, the Amazing Vehicles will serve the widest audience.
