About the Author
Kristy Alpert is an award-winning travel journalist whose quest for adventure has included trekking through the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda and taking part in the "polar plunge" in Antarctica. Kristy has spent months at a time on the road—in cars, on trains, and in planes—and believes that the journey to a destination can often be more memorable than the destination itself. Kristy is the “master of boredom busters,” having spent years working and traveling with youth, but it is her training as a yoga instructor, mom, and professional traveler that led her to write a book that aims to inspire the next generation to use all of their senses so they can have a truly memorable journey. Road trips are special, and she is thrilled to share her love for slowing down and enjoying the little moments that happen while on the road. See more of her writing in Men’s Health, Cosmopolitan, Food & Wine, AFAR, Esquire, Fodor’s Travel, or find out where she’s off to next at www.kristyalpert.com and on Instagram (@kristyalpert)
